Autumn Style Guide | Harradine's Country

Autumn signals a change - in the temperature, the landscape, and the traditions so many of us enjoy. I love dressing for autumn - as soon as the nights begin to draw in, I'm digging out my tweeds and getting ready for national hunt season, long walks through fallen leaves, and snuggling on the sofa with a hot chocolate at the end of the day. Capturing that transition between the long, hot, dry summers and the dark, cold, unrelenting winters just gives me that little reset I need.

Our Autumn Style Ideas

Harradine's Country celebrates its birthday every September, and our opening collection was certainly a celebration of British autumnal country style. A year on from opening our (online) doors for the first time, autumn remains "our season" at Harradine's.

This autumn, we're loving earthy greens, warm browns and little bursts of purple. Autumn is definitely the season of Harradine's Country, and many of our products pair beautifully with the autumnal surroundings.

Autumn sees the return of jumps racing, pub walks followed by a hearty roast, and chillier mornings and evenings. Here are my top 3 autumn country style ideas to see you through the season.

For a Day at the Races

For national hunt racing, you really can't go wrong with a tweed + hat pin combo! These purple feather hat pins, made especially for us by Fine Feathers, add a pop of colour to a green or brown tweed outfit.

If you really want to up your feather game, then pair your hat pin with the feather boot tassels by My Fancy Feathers. They simply clip on to your long boots (ideally an external zip or tab) to give that extra bit of flair.

Heels aren't always ideal when you're standing for long periods and walking between the parade ring and the winning post. Many of my local country shows happen in September, when the weather is changeable. A dry autumn day can turn chilly, but it can also be surprisingly warm!
