What I Look for in the Brands I Stock: Craftsmanship, Character, and Timeless British Style

|Rhiannon Harradine

Harradine’s Country is a carefully curated retail space. We’re not a marketplace, we don’t do fast fashion, and we’re not governed by trends. I’m on the lookout for independent British country style brands with a story to tell, who design and create beautiful, versatile, quality pieces for town, country and coast. This post is for you if you’re interested in either partnering with Harradine's Country as a valued supplier, or a potential customer who is looking to shop British with confidence.

The Kind of Brands I’m Looking For

Essential:

  • You must be an independent British brand - you can be large or small, new or established, as long as your business is independently owned.

  • Your brand must be focused on timeless, wearable, practical style pieces for town, country, or coast. I want to work with brands that create beautiful pieces my customers will love and wear every day, for years to come.

  • You must have a story to tell. It doesn’t have to be groundbreaking - I just want to work with brands and founders who are passionate about what they do, love their work, and have similar brand values to my own.

Preferred:

  • You make some or all of your products here in the UK. I completely understand that not all products can be easily manufactured in Britain, and I’m happy to consider quality pieces that are made outside the UK. However, I am committed to having a launch collection that is at least 50% British-made.

What I Don’t Want:

  • Cheap, throwaway, fast fashion. We’re all about quality over quantity here.

So, if you’re an independent British brand, and you feel that your brand and products align with the above, I’d love to hear from you. Complete my supplier interest form, and I’ll be in touch in the coming weeks.

Materials, Manufacturing & Making

Whilst we’re not defining ourselves by “eco” credentials - and we are certainly not a vegan brand - I do want to support and promote brands and pieces that practice genuine sustainability. I’d love to hear from brands that do any of the following:

  • Use natural fibres or British-made materials - this can include wool, cotton, linen, tweed, leather, hide, etc.

  • Products made in the UK, especially if made in small batches by skilled craftspeople. If your brand can only supply us in very small batches, that’s absolutely fine. Just let me know what you can do and I’ll be happy to chat.

  • Products that are genuinely durable, practical, wearable, and versatile. If your product is designed to age well, and made to last, then it could be a great fit.

Clothes that wear well and are long-lasting are better for your wardrobe, your wallet, and the planet. I want to connect my customers with the brands that they will love and wear day after day, year after year. If this resonates with you, then I’d love you to join my pre-launch list.

Style & Aesthetic Fit

I want Harradine’s Country to be the style destination for town, country, and coast. The pieces I want to stock will be fit for everyday wear - both in style and quality. I’m looking for products that will work at home, in the office, or out on a walk. Smart and sophisticated enough for a day at the races or a meal out, but wearable enough for the office, the daily walk, or a trip to the shops.

So, it’s fair to say that I want to elevate the everyday, whilst showcasing pieces that are made to be worn, not just photographed!

What Makes a Brand a Good Fit for Harradine’s Country?

Hopefully, there are plenty of brilliant British brands out there who will see this and know that we could make a fantastic team. As well as the things I’ve mentioned above, here are a few more things I’m looking for in the brands I work with:

  • Alignment with our values - slow style, independent brands, British production

  • Desire to build a great working relationship - I want to work with brands in partnership, to help both of us grow

  • A desire to grow together - I especially want to help promote smaller, newer brands who don’t have a big marketing machine behind them

What I Offer in Return

As well as being honest, transparent, and genuine, I want to bring something to each of the brands who choose to work with me. Your products will be more than just “stock”, and you will be more than just a “supplier”:

  • A platform that values storytelling and brand heritage

  • A marketing-savvy retail partner - I have a background in marketing for small businesses, and want to use my five years of experience to help more independent brands
